From 1 June 2009, HbA1c in people with diabetes will be measured in millimoles per mol as well as by percentage, the Department of Health says. What do you think?

Sounds like a job creation scheme to me. The conversion is actually quite straight forward but basically an HbA1c of less than 50mmol/mol is OK (HbA1c 7% = 53mmol/mol)

The mmols/mol is to keep in line with european measurements. We've been given conversion charts from Menarini. It'll take a while to get used to but I'm sure we'll oon get the hang of it.
